Jodie Bond is a writer who believes in the power of words to reveal beauty, inspire connection, and nurture understanding. Her work explores the deep threads that tie us to one another and to the living world through the intricate relationships between people, places, and the natural landscape that reveal the resilience and interdependence at the heart of our shared existence.

Whether crafting compelling narratives for nature-based organisations, telling stories that champion sustainability, or exploring the complexity of human connection, Jodie writes to uplift, inform, and inspire action. Her work has appeared in The Guardian, Vogue, The i Paper, BBC, National Geographic, and beyond.

Her debut novel, The Vagabond King (2019), weaves together Welsh mythology and environmental themes into a story rooted in the landscape and history of Wales. As Wales Arts Review wrote: "Bond offers something fresh, combining Welsh mythology with the nation's mining history to create a rousing epic about political struggle, injustice, and rebellion, with a distinctly Welsh bedrock."

Jodie has taught creative writing for Literature Wales, the Woodland Trust and BBC Writersroom, bringing the same attention to language and landscape that defines her own practice in workshop and educational contexts. Her teaching draws on a deep belief that writing is not a rarefied skill but a fundamental human capacity, one that when properly unlocked, allows people to articulate their relationship with place, memory, and the natural world in ways that surprise even themselves. She works with writers at all stages, from those encountering the page for the first time to experienced practitioners looking to deepen and refine their craft.

Her scriptwriting work spans radio, live performance, and immersive experience. She has written award-winning radio scripts and produced the script for an immersive time machine experience recognised by the Future Generations Commissioner as one of the defining creative projects of the last decade — a piece that used narrative and embodied storytelling to bring the long arc of environmental and social change viscerally to life for its audience.
